Having lost the argument in government, the Israeli settler movement is drawing up battle plans to disrupt and physically prevent the planned pullout of Jewish residents from the Gaza Strip. “We are not preparing to simply delay this pullout but totally prevent its implementation,” a senior member of the main Yesha council of settlers told AFP on condition of anonymity. Yesha leaders met late Monday to decide on a strategy to thwart Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s project to uproot the 8,000 Gaza settlers, and several hundred living in four West Bank settlements, in the aftermath of the cabinet’s vote in support of the disengagement plan.Full Story
