Mayor Tomas Osmeña admitted there is no guarantee the bomb attacks in three cities that left at least 12 people dead and 145 others injured on Valentine’s Day is not going to happen in this southern metropolis. “I’m not saying we are in a better position. We just can’t guarantee that it won’t happen because there are some extreme radical groups that might implement it,” Osmeña said. The Abu Sayyaf, a Muslim terrorist group allied with the Jemaah Islamiyah, the Southeast Asian arm of the Osama bin Laden-led al-Qaeda network, has owned up to the bombings that rocked the cities of Makati, Davao and General Santos.
