Three Colombian Schoolboys Killed By Landmine

Three grade-school boys were killed by a landmine in central Colombia while playing in a field, authorities said. The children – two brothers and a playmate aged 5 to 9 – died Monday from the explosion in a field outside the town of Vistahermosa, some 200 kilometers (120 miles) southeast of Bogota. More than four decades of civil war between leftist rebels and government forces has left this Andean nation sown with an estimated 130,000 anti-personnel land mines. Full Story
