COMMUNIST and Muslim rebels condemned the bomb attacks in the cities of Makati, General Santos, and Davao on Valentine’s Day “in the strongest terms.” Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) spokesman Eid Kabalu said the MILF was willing to help in the investigation to show its sincerity in the peace process. “We condemn this barbaric act in strongest terms. This is a carnage that dehumanizes human life and dignity,” MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim was quoted as saying in a statement posted on the rebel group’s website. “Yesterday evening’s bombings do not serve any democratic or pro-people cause –neither the Filipino people’s cause for liberation from US imperialism nor the Moro people’s cause for self-determination,” Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) spokesman Gregorio “Ka Roger” Rosal said in a statement.
