Terrorists have blown up about 26 towers of the transmission lines in Balochistan during the last 25 days causing loss of over Rs 20 million to the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), the sole Wapda transmission company. The Chief Executive NTDC Mohammad Shabir Ch revealed this at a press briefing here on Friday. He said the company was anticipating more blasts and had arranged extra towers and other material to cope up with any future emergency. He said Wapda had requested the Balochistan and federal governments to provide security for the transmission lines. He said the SNGPL had acquired the services of Punjab Rangers and FC on payment to guard its main gas distribution lines. Full Story
