Participants face various scenarios. Law enforcement officers and other first responders began work Tuesday “in the best interests of the city,” preparing for the possibility of a terrorist attack. The Texas Engineering Extension Service paid for and organized a three-day “weapons of mass destruction” drill for Ector County. The drill continues today and Thursday. Staged in the Emergency Operations Center in the basement of the police department, city and county leaders and various law enforcement worked through “worst possible scenarios” of terrorist attacks on the City of Odessa and Ector County.
