Gunmen fired 48 times into the car of Mexican television reporter Jorge Cardona as it sat empty in front of his house here, authorities said Monday. Cardona, who works for Mexico’s largest network, Televisa, was inside the residence at the time of the overnight assault, according to the state attorney general’s office in Nuevo Leon, whose capital is Monterrey. Reporting that the assailants riddled the car with 48 bullets before fleeing the scene in vehicles, authorities declined to speculate on a possible motive for the attack. Full Story
