A car bomb exploded in Getxo in Spain’s northern Basque country, injuring a policewoman in an attack claimed by the armed Basque separatist group ETA just two days after it backed calls for dialogue with the Spanish government. Regional Basque government sources told AFP a policeman had been injured in the early afternoon blast in Getxo, a suburb of the northern port city of Bilbao. The incident came just two days after ETA said it backed a call by the outlawed radical party Batasuna, of which the group is the military wing, to engage in a dialogue with the Spanish government on the region’s future.
