A French-Algerian man accused of plotting to blow up the U.S. embassy in Paris told a French court on Monday he had no links to extremist groups and felt as though he was receiving an Inquisition-style trial. Djamel Beghal, suspected of having links to al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, and five other men on trial with him face prison sentences of up to 10 years if found guilty of criminal conspiracy designed to commit an act of terrorism.
