At least 10 security personnel have died in an ambush by Maoist rebels to the north-east of the capital, Kathmandu, authorities say. They say the rebels suffered an unknown number of casualties in the attack in Sindhupalchouk district. A booby-trap device exploded on a section of highway as a patrol arrived and rebels then opened fire. Over 10,000 people have died in the Maoist insurgency which aims to replace the monarchy with a communist republic. Full Story
