Western leaders have welcomed the outcome of Ukraine’s presidential election – but Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych is refusing to admit defeat. Election officials confirmed that pro-Western opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko won Sunday’s re-run ballot, eight points ahead of his rival.
