Ukraine’s opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko played down fears of separatism ahead of a crucial rerun presidential vote as his pro-Russia rival warned that his supporters could take to the streets if he is defeated in the poll.The opposition leader also said that he was in good physical shape following poisoning by massive amounts of dioxin that disfigured his face and that he has blamed on the ruling regime. “Ukraine’s regions do not have contradictions between them,” Yushchenko told reporters in Kiev. “There is a wish by political outsiders who lost the elections and have no chance of remaining in power to bring up this topic … (but) they are grabbing at nostalgia.”Full Story
