If you saw an unusual amount of emergency vehicles and personnel racing around Guam today, you don’t need to worry – everything’s fine. Local and federal emergency response agencies got a chance to practice what they’ve learned in training. The Guam Office of Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense held a full-scale exercise today to test their capabilities. They say practice makes perfect and that was the point of Operation I Lina’la Guahan, (Operation for the Livelihood of the People of Guam.) The exercise began at about 8:45 this morning at a simulated gathering at Adelup. During the mock celebration, terrorists bring in and activate a chemical dispersion device injuring and killing some of those gathered for the event. After the first responder arrives and assesses the situation an incident command post is set up down the road at the Department of Land Management. Full Story
