Iraq and its neighbors sought ways at a high-level security meeting Wednesday to stop foreign fighters from entering Iraq as differences emerged on what to do with those already taken captive. Iraqi Interior Minister Falah Hassan al-Naqib said his country has called on the ministers and security chiefs at the Tehran gathering to block infiltrators and stop the flow of money to insurgents in Iraq. “We are aware that some of the terrorists infiltrate from neighboring countries, and we call on our neighbors to arrest them and hand them over to Iraq for trial,” al-Naqib said. A month ago, Iraq’s interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi said authorities had 167 Arab foreign fighters in custody. More were arrested in last month’s U.S.-led offensive in the city of Fallujah.
