The United States closed its consular office and the American Center in India’s commercial hub Bombay on Tuesday saying they could be targets of terrorist attacks. A U.S. embassy official also warned Americans in India to maintain extra vigilance in view of the terror threat. “Based on information received by the U.S. government, terrorists may be planning attacks on U.S. interests in the near future,” an embassy statement said.
