The bodies of nine French soldiers killed when Ivorian jets attacked French positions in the west African state were flown back to France early on Monday, Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said. The nine were killed on Saturday in what France has called a deliberate attack on its troops, who were enforcing a ceasefire between rebels and government forces in the former French colony.
