A general strike in oil exporter Nigeria may be extended beyond Thursday if the government continues to crack down on protesters violently, union chief Adams Oshiomhole said on Tuesday.The strike to protest against rising fuel prices in the world’s seventh largest oil exporter was originally due to end at midnight on Thursday, but Oshiomhole said this might be extended if violent repression of protests continued. “If we discover that the police is still arresting and killing, we will elongate the strike,” Oshiomhole told a news conference.
