India has told Israel that isolating and confining Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat will fuel more extremism in the Middle East, Foreign Minister Natwar Singh said.”We have advised our Israeli friends about our belief that the isolation and confinement of President Arafat in his Ramallah headquarters would engender popular frustration and encourage extremists on the Palestinian side,” he told a university audience on Wednesday. Israeli forces have confined Arafat in Ramallah for nearly three years.
