Costa Rica’s president said Monday he is asking Miguel Angel Rodriguez to resign as secretary-general of the Organization of American States because of alleged payments from a government contractor. President Abel Pacheco, who succeeded Rodriguez as president of Costa Rica in May 2002, said the Foreign Ministry was studying the legal procedure needed to seek the resignation.
