The Colombian government said Monday it has not promised leaders of rightist militia groups deeply into drug-trafficking and responsible for dozens of massacres that they will not be extradited to the United States if they demobilize. That word came after a local news magazine that the U.S.-backed administration’s top peace negotiator with the notorious anti-communist irregulars had sought to ease their fears about being sent northward to face long prison terms.
