Russia Pushing Security Council for Wider List of Terror Suspects
Russia circulated a draft resolution among Security Council members on Friday that would establish a new list of terror suspects, all of whom would be subject to extradition. The introduction of the resolution comes three weeks after the suicide bombings of two Russian airliners and the hostage crisis in a school in Beslan, North Ossetia, that killed more than 320, half of them children. A Security Council committee currently compiles a list restricted to people and groups linked to Al Qaeda and the deposed Taliban in Afghanistan, and member states are supposed to freeze their assets, bar their travel and keep them from acquiring weapons.Full Story
