The chief of the Russian Federal Nuclear Power Energy has not ruled out the possibility of international terrorists gaining access to fissile materials, including highly-enriched uranium and plutonium, and technologies for nuclear weapons production. “Today, we have to admit that we cannot fully rule out the possibility that fissile materials, including highly-enriched uranium and plutonium, as well as technologies suitable for manufacturing nuclear weapons may fall into the hands of international terrorists,” Alexander Rumyantsev said at an international conference of the Global Threat Reduction Initiative’s partners in Vienna on Saturday.
