More than 200 journalists on Monday released an urgent letter to President Vicente Fox demanding more security and justice following the recent killings of three journalists along the U.S. border. “We demand that President Fox fulfill promises to guarantee freedom of expression, seriously under attack in several states,” said the letter, which was marked “urgent” and signed by 215 reporters and editors. “We express our indignation over the brutal murder” of syndicated columnist Francisco Arratia Saldierna, killed in Matamoros on Aug. 31, it said.
