Responder safety scenarios were practiced at their best, videotaped and photographed on Wednesday to help educate local first responders as well as those from other states and eventually those the world over. The Responder Safety Best Practices Photo Shoot is 15 hours of scenarios played out with fire companies, police, ambulance services, transportation departments and practically any other entity that’s tied into first responders or highway safety. Along an unopened section of the Mon/Fayette Expressway, the first responders were subject to eight different highway accident scenarios, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 10:30 p.m. The scenarios included single- and multi-vehicle responses to an accident, an initial response to a limited access highway and even helicopter landing procedures.
