The United States urged Russia to quickly bring to justice those behind the murder of the Russian editor of Forbes magazine to prevent what it called a climate of fear for journalists. Officials said Moscow had so far not taken up an offer by the United States to assist investigations into the killing of Paul Khlebnikov, who was gunned down in a gangland-style shooting as he left his Moscow office last Friday. “It is important for us that the killers be brought swiftly to justice,” US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told reporters.
