Prime Minister Tony Blair defended his decision to go to war with Iraq, saying he felt the same on the issue as he did before the US-led invasion last year. “I feel very much as I did 18 months ago,” Blair told a Downing Street press conference alongside his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi. “It is very difficult to look at Iraq today, look at Iraq under Saddam (Hussein) and say we’d be better off, the world would be safer, we would be more secure if Saddam was still in charge,” he said.
