The Indonesian president, Megawati Sukarnoputri, will most likely come in second in the final count of the presidential election and face her former security minister, Gen. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, in a runoff, analysts here said Wednesday. As the counting of ballots in the election on Monday continued, Mrs. Megawati held a steady second place, and her closest rival to qualify for the runoff, a former general, Wiranto, appeared unable to catch up. With just over 50 percent of the votes from more than 580,000 polling places counted, General Yudhoyono had 33.1 percent, Mrs. Megawati 28.3 percent and General Wiranto, 22 percent, the election commission said.
