Leftist Mexico City Mayor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said Tuesday that conservative forces were putting the country’s stability at risk by using legal maneuvers to prevent him from running for president. Lopez Obrador has accused federal officials of trying to smear him, and tensions escalated this month after federal police and Mexico City officers arrested each other for alleged thievery, kidnapping or extortion.
