Turkish police arrested several suspected militants from underground organisations ahead of next week’s NATO summit in Istanbul, amid security fears heightened by a second bomb explosion in the city. No one was injured when a small time-controlled bomb attached to a banner with an anti-NATO message exploded in the European quarter of Istanbul as bomb disposal squads were sealing off the area, a police spokesman said. Tension has been high in Istanbul since Thursday, when four people were killed and 21 injured in an explosion that ripped through a crowded public bus in the European quarter of the city.
