A radical Muslim cleric who faces charges in the United States of supporting al Qaeda will appear in a London court on Thursday to face an American extradition request. Abu Hamza al-Masri, 47, is accused of plotting to create an al Qaeda training camp in the United States and giving “material support and resources to terrorists” in Yemen. An open admirer of Osama bin Laden, the one-eyed preacher is due to attend the start of what could be a drawn-out bid to extradite him for trial in the United States.
