U.S. regulators have no scientific models to accurately predict what may happen in an accident or act of sabotage involving a tanker filled with liquefied natural gas (LNG), a new report said on Friday. The potential dangers of hauling LNG has raised concerns since the September 11 attacks and as energy firms propose building some 30 new LNG receiving terminals to supply the U.S. market.
