Three home-made bombs were found in mailboxes in northwest suburban Palatine, and postal supervisor Mark Hurter said the bombs appeared to have been made by kids pulling a prank. A postal worker discovered a bomb had detonated inside a mailbox in Palatine late last week. The worker called authorities, who later found two other unexploded bombs nearby.
