The CIA has concluded that the voice on an Internet audio message offering gold for assassinations of top US civilian and military officials is “likely” that of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, a CIA official said. “After conducting technical analysis of the audio recording that surfaced on the Internet yesterday, our assessment at CIA is it is likely the voice of Osama bin Laden,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The message, posted on a website frequently used by Islamic extremists, offered 10,000 grams of gold to whoever kills coalition administrator Paul Bremer, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan or UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.
