Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon does not plan to carry out “soon” his threats against Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, his deputy has said. Ehud Olmert said Mr Sharon “does not intend to implement his threats, not today, not tomorrow, nor next week”. On Friday, Mr Sharon said he was no longer bound by a pledge to US President George W Bush not to harm the Palestinian leader physically. Mr Arafat has defied the threats saying he is not afraid to become a “martyr”. The US has insisted that Mr Sharon should honour the promise made three years ago. Full Story
