President Bush said Wednesday that the war on terror “is going to take a while” and pleaded for patience and resolve. “The Iraqi people are looking at Americans and saying, ‘Are we going to cut and run again?’ ” Bush said. “We’re not going to cut and run while I’m in the Oval Office.” Bush spoke to 1,500 newspaper executives at the annual luncheon meeting of the Associated Press, which traditionally hosts a presidential speech.
