Australia is main hacker source

AUSTRALIA has become the top source of computer attacks in the Asia-Pacific region at a time that threats to steal information from computers, including banking and credit card details, have soared, a report found yesterday. Anti-virus firm Symantec said in its half-yearly report, on computer attacks in more than 180 countries, that Australia ranked fifth in the world for Internet attacks. It was surpassed only by the US, Canada, China and Japan. The report also found threats to steal confidential information from PCs rose 519 per cent from July to December 2003 over the same period in 2002. Full Story
