Seven Kurds were killed and several others wounded on Tuesday when Syrian security forces opened fire on groups commemorating the anniversary of the poison gas attacks on the Iraqi Kurdish town of Halabja in 1988, Turkey’s Anatolia news agency reported. Citing local sources in Syria, the report said that three of the victims were shot in the northwest city of Aleppo and the remaining four were killed in the town of Afrin, 60 kilometres (40 miles) north of Aleppo.
