Qatar Seizes Agents For Car Bombing Of Separatist. Qatar has arrested and charged two Russian agents with murder in the car-bombing death this month of a Chechen separatist leader in the Persian Gulf state, authorities in Qatar said Thursday. Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, 51, died Feb. 13 when a bomb attached to his car exploded while he was returning from Friday prayers at a mosque in Doha, Qatar’s capital. He had been near the top of Russia’s most-wanted list for years, and Moscow had long fumed about Qatar’s refusal to turn him over. Igor Ivanov, the acting Russian foreign minister, rejected the Qatari allegations, although he acknowledged that the two agents in Doha performed intelligence work for Russian secret services. “These actions completely fit in with the efforts by member states of the anti-terrorist coalition to identify sources and channels of financing, organizational mechanisms and other means of support for terrorist organizations,” he said in a statement.
