U.S. officials on Wednesday released the full text of a letter purportedly written by an operative linked to Al Qaeda, calling for kidnapping and killing Americans and trying to ignite a civil war before the U.S.-led coalition hands over power to the Iraqi people in June. “We are racing against time,” said the letter, portions of which had been disclosed previously. The letter was purportedly written by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a suspected Jordanian terrorist who was seeking Al Qaeda’s support in Iraq, U.S. officials said.
