President Pervez Musharraf suspected for at least three years that Pakistan’s top nuclear scientist was sharing nuclear technology with other countries, the New York Times reported on Tuesday. Abdul Qadeer Khan confessed to selling nuclear arms secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea last week and took full responsibility. Musharraf pardoned Khan, ruled out an independent investigation and vowed that what Khan did would not happen again. The Pakistani leader said in Tuesday’s Times interview in Pakistan that American officials did not provide him with evidence of Khan’s activities until October, according to the report. Full Story
