India on Friday test-fired from a mobile launcher its medium range Prithvi missile, designed for quick maneuverability and wartime efficiency, United News of India reported. India routinely tests its missiles and this was the 23rd such firing of the Prithvi since 1988, according to UNI. India and its nuclear rival, Pakistan, routinely test missiles and have an arrangement to notify each other ahead of time for tests of long-rage, strategic weapons. The neighboring nations are preparing to resume their peace dialogue with high-level talks in February, after a break of more than two years, following their mobilization for a possible fourth war in 2002.
