A make-or-break review of Northern Ireland’s 1998 Good Friday agreement will begin on Feb. 3, Britain said Monday, as Prime Minister Tony Blair met his Irish counterpart to discuss the troubled peace process. Blair and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern hope the review will pave the way for the revival of power-sharing between Protestants and Roman Catholics in the province. The review, scheduled under the terms of the 1998 pact that aimed to end 30 years of Protestant-Catholic violence, comes after electoral victories for hard-liners in November effectively paralyzed Northern Ireland’s peace process.
