A suicide bomber killed four Afghan intelligence agents and their driver Sunday when he detonated explosives hidden under his clothes while sitting inside their vehicle after his arrest, police said. The intelligence agents detained the man near the capital’s airport when he detonated his explosives inside their sport utility vehicle, Kabul police chief Baba Jan said. The suspect, who also died, was a foreigner wanted by Afghan authorities, but the police chief did not identify him or his nationality. “They had just arrested him with explosives,” Jan said near the scene. “This guy had more explosives on his body and when they took him inside the car, he blew himself up.” The deadly bombing was the latest in a series of violent incidents since delegates from around the country began meeting in the capital to craft a new constitution for Afghanistan.
