Anti-terrorist police last night charged a 24-year-old man with conspiring with the shoe bomber Richard Reid and others to plant bombs in the United Kingdom. Sajid Badat, arrested at his Gloucester home last Thursday, will also face two further charges of possessing explosives. He is accused of “unlawfully and maliciously” conspiring with Reid and others unknown between September 1 2001 and November 28 2003 to cause an explosion likely to endanger life or seriously damage property in the UK or elsewhere.
