A suicide bomber blew up a pickup truck packed with explosives alongside the office of a U.S.-allied political party Thursday, killing himself and five other people, including two children, as resistance attacks expanded into northern and southern Iraq. Early Friday, rockets were fired at two hotels in central Baghdad and the Oil Ministry. The attack on the ministry, which was hit by as many as five rockets, according to witnesses, came minutes after at least three rockets struck the Palestine and Sheraton hotels, where many foreign workers and journalists stay. The rockets shattered windows and damaged walls in the hotels and at least two people were reported injured.
