Germany has extradited two Yemenis to the United States on charges that they supported the al-Qaida terrorist network, prosecutors said Monday. The two men, Sheikh Ali Hassan al-Moayad and his alleged assistant, Mohammed Mohsen Yahya Zayed, were picked up Sunday by American officials and flown out of the Rhine-Main Air Base near Frankfurt by the U.S. Air Force, said Hildegard Becker-Toussaint, a spokeswoman for Frankfurt prosecutors. The move came after the Federal Constitutional Court ruled Thursday that the two could expect a fair trial in the United States, rejecting the complaints they filed against lower-court decisions backing extradition.
