Pope John Paul II denounced during his meeting in the Vatican yesterday with a delegation of the Christian members in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) that he denounced “all forms of terrorism, because it does not only represent treason for our common humanity only, but because it is unable to found the political, moral and spiritual basics necessary for the freedom of people.” Pope John Paul asked the delegation to convey his “warmest wishes to the chairman of the Palestinian authority and to “all the Palestinian people.” The Pope denounced the escalation of violence and repression” in the Middle East.
