The authorities in Indian-administered Kashmir say at least five people have been killed and four others injured when Indian soldiers repulsed an attack by Muslim militants on a bridge over the river Chenab. Two Indian soldiers were among those killed. Security forces say they have retrieved the bodies of two militants and are searching for a third. In another incident, railway traffic to and from the winter capital, Jammu, was severely disrupted following an overnight bomb attack on the Delhi-bound Shalimar Express.
