An FBI team was beginning its probe into a deadly bomb attack on a US diplomatic convoy in the Gaza Strip as Yasser Arafat fended off accusations that he has failed to halt the violence. “The FBI team has arrived in Israel,” US embassy spokesman Paul Patin told AFP. “They have started their investigation into yesterday’s incident.” The team was expected to touch base with diplomatic and Israeli security officials before travelling to the scene of the blast near Beit Hanun in northern Gaza, where three embassy security agents were killed by a suspected remote-controlled device.
