Pakistan said Wednesday a senior al Qaeda official could be among eight suspected militants killed in a clash with Pakistani forces near the Afghan border this month. “I can’t confirm, but there is an apprehension that there was a man who had a price on his head among those killed,” Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told a news conference. “He could be among the top 10 or 15 (al Qaeda) people,” he said, without giving further details. But a U.S. official told Reuters in Washington that none of the top 10 or 20 al Qaeda leaders were believed to be among the eight people killed in the raid. Full Story
